Our Goal

The goal of Haiti Care Mission is to share the love of Jesus with the children of Haiti through handmade items. Each hand sown item is made to help every child know that they are precious in His sight. Pinless cloth diapers, pillowcase dresses, and sleeping mats are used as a means of sharing the Gospel of Jesus with the children and families of Haiti.

All the bags are packed and all the preparations are in place.

Tomorrow, Haiti Care Mission will begin our travel to Haiti.  We will spend the night in Fort Lauderdale in order to catch an early Saturday morning flight.  We look forward to ministering to the children of Haiti and working along veteran missionaries. We are blessed to have this opportunity.  We would like thank all of the sewing groups, toy makers, finanical partners and prayer warriors who have poured

Big Deliveries and Big Blessings

Over the past three months, God has been using Haiti Care Mission to pass the message of Jesus’ love to LOTS of children.  As we sat back to reflect over the past few months, we were really amazed to see the number of items that have been received and shipped recently to the children of Haiti and beyond.

In the July newsletter, we challenged sewing groups to consider making a few new items.  We are very pleased to report that boys shorts, backpacks and large-sized dresses are coming to the mission in large numbers.  Several groups have been working on these items and we are really excited about beginning to distribute these new items.  We already have missionaries who are asking for the items so we know they will be well received.  Thank you to each group that took on the challenge and started working on these new projects.

In total, over the past three months, we have received over 4500 items at the mission headquarters.  Over seven hundred backpacks (both hand-made and custom ordered) have been shipped to us, and are now in the hands of Haitian school children. They will be a huge blessing to the students as they start their school year and a daily reminder of God’s love.

We have also received hundreds of boys shorts, large-sized dresses, sleeping mats and hand made wooden toys.  We are very blessed to have a constant supply of boxes being delivered to our front door.  Every box we receive  ignites our heart because we know that each item holds the opportunity to share the love of Jesus.

As we looked over the number of items we received, we thought it was also important to report the number of items that have been placed in the hands of children in Haiti and beyond.  Over the past three months, Haiti Care Mission has shipped 4700 items to children all over the world.

We have been sending items via several different methods. We have reduced shipping costs dramatically as we have been using more efficient methods of delivery.  For example, over 2000 items have been delivered via sea container with a partner ministry.  Others have been shipped directly to the missionary using Agape Flights, and still others are being delivered by short term missions teams.

Lance will be leading three of these trips in the next three months.  One team will be going to Guatemala with 1000 items to share with the children in the villages.  The other two trips will be to Haiti; one in October and one in November.  As a family, we will be together for the November trip.  During that trip, we plan on ministering to children in several churches and schools.  We are really looking forward to the opportunity to personally distribute these items and share Jesus with the children.

We have also had several other short-term teams take items to the mission field.  They have shared Haiti Care Mission items in Peru,  Costa Rica, and Kenya.  We are very excited about these opportunities to share with children all over the globe.  These tools are so important to sharing the message of hope with children and we embrace these chances to share them with teams who we know will use them to teach the children about Jesus.

Thank you to all of our sewing groups who have been faithful in producing these beautiful gifts.  Our prayer is that the seeds you are planting into the lives of the children will produce an abundant harvest in the Kingdom.  We are very blessed to have fellow laborers linking arms with us to reach His children.

Mission Needs

Haiti Care Mission has been very blessed by the faithfulness of both churches and individuals in the past year.  We would like to thank you for your gifts,

Along with our heartfelt thanks, we would like to share with you the mission's current needs. Currently, the mission is in need of financial partners, who will contribute to both the operational costs and shipping costs of the mission,  One time gifts and monthly supporters are needed to continue the work that the Lord has started.   If you are interested in contributing to these needs, please contact us or Faith in the Family, our financial accountability ministry.

We are also in need of more sewing groups.  Our goal is to have all of our current inventory in the hands of children before the end of the year.  We need many workers to replenish the supply of dresses, diapers, backpacks and boys shorts for 2013.  If you are interested in joining our support team or sewing team, please contact us.

Praises and Prayer requests

We know that a good prayer covering over a ministry will make a huge difference.  Please join us in praying for these requests:

· Please pray for Lance and the teams he is leading as well as the Anderson family as they prepare to travel to minister to the children.

· Please pray for people of Haiti as the tropical storm season continues.  Pray God’s hand of protection over them and His help in rebuilding after Hurricane Issac.

· Please pray for the needs of Haiti Care Mission.  Pray the abundance of God will overflow the resources of this ministry.

Praises

· Praise God all the hard working and helpful hands that provide items for this ministry.

New Needs for Haiti Care Mission

During our trip to Haiti, we determined that there are some new needs for Haiti that we would like to attempt to meet.
One of the new needs is that of shorts for boys.  While it was wonderful to give dresses to the little girls and share with them,  it was very hard to see the boys and not have much to give them.  We did share small items with them so no one went home empty handed but it was made evident to us that there is a need for boys shorts as well as dresses for the girls.

In the future we want to be able to bring something significant for every child, so we are now opening up the sewing groups to start making boys shorts.  The boys shorts will mainly be for play since they wear pants to school and church.  The style of the shorts needs to be relaxed and comfortable.  The sizes needed range from 2T to boys size 16.

We also found that we have a need for dresses in larger sizes.  The pillowcase dresses are a good fit for most school children, but, in Haiti, some children start school later than 5 years old.  Therefore, when they reach 6th grade they can be as old as 15 years old.  We need dresses that will fit young women, not just the school girls.  The girls in the schools and churches we visited were very happy to receive the new dresses we had for them but some will be wearing them as long-style shirts instead of dresses.  Next time, we want to be able to give them something they will be able to feel comfortable wearing.

The third need that was revealed to us was a need for drawstring backpacks.  With school starting in the fall, we received a request from one missionary for 600 backpacks.  The children need something very simple to take their things back and forth to school.  They do not carry much to school but it would be great to share the love of Jesus with them in a very practical and tangible item.

With the growth of Haiti Care Mission, we expect to see changes in the needs on a regular basis.  It is our desire to meet the needs in whatever way we can.  If you are interested in helping make these new items, please give us a call so we can give you more specific information.

Praises and Prayer request
We know that a good prayer covering over a ministry will make a huge difference.  Please join us in praying for these requests:
· Please pray for the Anderson family as they travel to the Midwest to promote Haiti Care Mission and develop new sewing groups.
· Please pray for the financial needs of HCM.  We know God is the supplier of all our needs.  Pray for those He has called to give.
· Please pray for Haiti.  Pray that the Gospel of Jesus would bring them hope.
Praises
· Praise God for a very successful trip to Haiti.  Many connections were made.
· Praise Him for His provision for His ministry.  He is meeting all of our needs.

Thank you for all your prayers and support.  We appreciate you.

We would like to leave you with a few more pictures from Haiti Care Mission's trip to Haiti this spring.

Haiti Care Mission in HAITI

Last week was an amazing week for Haiti Care Mission.  We had a very successful week of blessing the children of Haiti.  In the last 7 days, over 1500 items were personally delivered to the children.  Our family, a family friend, Dick Armstrong, who was traveling to Haiti to work in an orphanage, 316BeSalt ministries (out of Lakeland, FL) and our Flint, Michigan collection center coordinator, Shirley Brown were all in Haiti last week.  All combined we were able to bless many children and share the love of Jesus with the Haitian kids.
It is overwhelming to consider that all of these groups where in country at the same time and all were delivering Haiti Care Mission items during their trips...  BUT what is even more overwhelming is that God orchestrated for us to meet up with Dick Armstrong and Shirley Brown while in Haiti.  Now consider the fact that... none of us had cell phones, none of us planned to meet in Haiti, and none of us knew the others exact itineraries.  It is estimated that over 850,000 people live in Port au Prince, 100,000s more live in the surrounding areas and many more visiting or shopping at the markets on any given day.  Think about how many people were walking the streets of Port au Prince and we met up with our contacts while we were there.  That is amazing!!!  We were put together to meet by the Almighty. God definitely proved to us that He can make all things possible.
Our trip to Haiti was full of amazing connections that God ordained.  From the shuttle ride to the airport in Miami to our return trip to North Port, God placed people in our path that will help build and expand Haiti Care Mission.  We have many stories to share but for now we will leave you with some pictures so you can get a taste of our time in Haiti.
God has His hand on Haiti Care Mission and we are honored to be working for Him to serve His people.
