Our Goal

The goal of Haiti Care Mission is to share the love of Jesus with the children of Haiti through handmade items. Each hand sown item is made to help every child know that they are precious in His sight. Pinless cloth diapers, pillowcase dresses, and sleeping mats are used as a means of sharing the Gospel of Jesus with the children and families of Haiti.

A Year of Abundant Blessings

As 2012 comes to a close, it is quite exciting to see what the Lord has done through Haiti Care Mission in the past twelve months.   It has been a year of abundant blessings.

This year, the ministry has made three trips to Haiti to share the love of Jesus with children and to serve alongside partner missionaries.  During each of those trips, we personally ministered to children with the love of Jesus.  We have had wonderful opportunities to reach out to churches, schools and villages with Christ’s love.

In 2012, Haiti Care Mission has delivered over 13,000 items to children around the globe.  We are very excited about that number. That number represents 13,000 lives touched for Christ.  To us, that number is an indication of how God is using Haiti Care Mission to comfort His children.   We feel very honored and blessed to be part of God’s work in Haiti.

In addition to Haiti, HCM items have gone to seven different countries in 2012. The main focus of HCM is to serve the children of Haiti but when opportunities arise to share the love of Jesus in other countries, we proudly link arms with teams or missionaries.  God has made some amazing connections for us this year and we are grateful.

As we close the books on 2012, we are extremely humbled by the outpouring of support that we have received through new churches and individuals that have joined our team and the number of new sewing groups that have come along to serve with us.  Without the hard work and labors of MANY, Haiti Care Mission would not be an effective tool that God can use.

Thank you to each one of you who has contributed through your labors, gifts, and prayer support.  We appreciate each of you and look forward to another year of serving with you to bring Christ’s love to the children of Haiti.

New Needs for Haiti Care Mission

As we move forward into 2013, we are looking at new ways to serve the children in Haiti.   This year we would like to expand and improve the items we use to bless the children.

One new items that we feel will be of great value in Haiti is flip flops.  In November, we had the opportunity to distribute shoes to the students of a school in Arnous and Port au Prince.  Through that experience, we were made aware of the great need for more shoes.  Flip flops are lightweight and very inexpensive.  We would love to use a simple pair of flip flops as a tool to share the Gospel.  If you or your organization would like to collect flip flops, please let us know.  We have one company in Florida who is challenging their customers to get involved in “giving to others” through donating a simple pair of shoes.

Another change for 2013 is the style of diapers that we are making.  The current pattern is very simple but we would like to provide something more absorbent and leakproof.  We are grateful for all who have contributed to the diapers we have been using and hope you will embrace the opportunity to try something new.  We are currently working with a hospital in Haiti to provide diapers for their children so the need will continue to be high.  To receive a copy of the new pattern, you can contact us or locate it on our blog.

In addition to these two new items, we will continue to need  dresses of all sizes, sleeping mats, boys shorts, and backpacks.  Each of these items has proven to be of great value.  If you are interested in patterns for any of these items, please contact us.

Prayer Requests and Praises

· Praise God for an incredible year of blessing the children of Haiti and beyond.  Over 13,000 children were blessed this year.

Look what these kids got for Christmas

Thanks to some friends/missionaries in Haiti, these children received sleeping mats for Christmas this year. They were given as a Christmas gift in the name of Jesus at a local school.  We are grateful that they took the time to distribute these this week.

Fall Trip Details

Last month we had the privilege of traveling to Haiti to personally minister to over 1200 students.  It was a complete joy to meet and encourage these precious children.

While in country, we were blessed to work alongside veteran missionaries, Pastor Tom and Beverly Brumbley at Evangelistic World Outreach.  After working several days at their headquarters in Port au Prince, we traveled to Petit Goave and Arnoux to meet the children.

Our first stop was in Petit Goave.  We spent time with each class sharing a Bible lesson and distributing gifts.  Every child in grades K-6 received a backpack full of goodies, and the children in the pre-k classes received a handmade wooden toy.  The backpacks were all packed with a booklet of the Books of John and Romans (in Creole), a tooth care kit, and pencils.  All of the children were thrilled to receive the gifts of love.

Next, we headed to the village of Arnoux.  Arnoux is located in the area heavily affected by Hurricane Sandy.  There was extensive damage to the roads on the way to Arnoux but it was well worth the effort to get to this school/church.  We were blessed to be able to meet with every class in the school (pre-K to 9th grade).  Once again, we shared a Bible lesson and distributed items to the students.  Thanks to the efforts of all of the sewing groups, we were able to furnish every student with a gift of love.  The boys were very happy to receive a new pair of shorts or a new t-shirt, and the girls, of all sizes, were able to receive a dress.  We were also given  several cases of  shoes to distribute to the little ones.  All of the students appreciated their gifts and showed great care as they folded the items to store them in their bags.  At recess time, we saw many of them in the play yard wearing their new clothes over their school uniforms.

We were truly blessed to spend time at these schools with the students.  The smiles we shared and songs we sang together are motivation to keep moving forward and reach more children for Christ.

Later in the week, we had one more opportunity to share the love of Jesus with the students of the headquarters school in Port au Prince.  At this school, we met with the classes from pre-K to 2nd grade.  We were able to bless them with a combination of items (dresses, shorts, shoes, hair ribbons, underwear). Along with the items, we were able to share a little message of God’s love.  It was a joy to see their excitement in receiving. Their smiles and words of thanks melted our hearts.

We feel very blessed to have these opportunities to share the love of Jesus with these precious children. It feels like each trip we take that we take you, our supporters and sewing groups, with us.  You are a huge part of what we are able to accomplish.  Thank you for supporting us and the work of Haiti Care Mission.

We pray that each of you has a blessed Christmas season and you take the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with those around you.

Here are a few more pictures from Haiti.

Big Deliveries and Big Blessings

Over the past three months, God has been using Haiti Care Mission to pass the message of Jesus’ love to LOTS of children.  As we sat back to reflect over the past few months, we were really amazed to see the number of items that have been received and shipped recently to the children of Haiti and beyond.

In the July newsletter, we challenged sewing groups to consider making a few new items.  We are very pleased to report that boys shorts, backpacks and large-sized dresses are coming to the mission in large numbers.  Several groups have been working on these items and we are really excited about beginning to distribute these new items.  We already have missionaries who are asking for the items so we know they will be well received.  Thank you to each group that took on the challenge and started working on these new projects.

In total, over the past three months, we have received over 4500 items at the mission headquarters.  Over seven hundred backpacks (both hand-made and custom ordered) have been shipped to us, and are now in the hands of Haitian school children. They will be a huge blessing to the students as they start their school year and a daily reminder of God’s love.

We have also received hundreds of boys shorts, large-sized dresses, sleeping mats and hand made wooden toys.  We are very blessed to have a constant supply of boxes being delivered to our front door.  Every box we receive  ignites our heart because we know that each item holds the opportunity to share the love of Jesus.

As we looked over the number of items we received, we thought it was also important to report the number of items that have been placed in the hands of children in Haiti and beyond.  Over the past three months, Haiti Care Mission has shipped 4700 items to children all over the world.

We have been sending items via several different methods. We have reduced shipping costs dramatically as we have been using more efficient methods of delivery.  For example, over 2000 items have been delivered via sea container with a partner ministry.  Others have been shipped directly to the missionary using Agape Flights, and still others are being delivered by short term missions teams.

Lance will be leading three of these trips in the next three months.  One team will be going to Guatemala with 1000 items to share with the children in the villages.  The other two trips will be to Haiti; one in October and one in November.  As a family, we will be together for the November trip.  During that trip, we plan on ministering to children in several churches and schools.  We are really looking forward to the opportunity to personally distribute these items and share Jesus with the children.

We have also had several other short-term teams take items to the mission field.  They have shared Haiti Care Mission items in Peru,  Costa Rica, and Kenya.  We are very excited about these opportunities to share with children all over the globe.  These tools are so important to sharing the message of hope with children and we embrace these chances to share them with teams who we know will use them to teach the children about Jesus.

Thank you to all of our sewing groups who have been faithful in producing these beautiful gifts.  Our prayer is that the seeds you are planting into the lives of the children will produce an abundant harvest in the Kingdom.  We are very blessed to have fellow laborers linking arms with us to reach His children.

Mission Needs

Haiti Care Mission has been very blessed by the faithfulness of both churches and individuals in the past year.  We would like to thank you for your gifts,

Along with our heartfelt thanks, we would like to share with you the mission's current needs. Currently, the mission is in need of financial partners, who will contribute to both the operational costs and shipping costs of the mission,  One time gifts and monthly supporters are needed to continue the work that the Lord has started.   If you are interested in contributing to these needs, please contact us or Faith in the Family, our financial accountability ministry.

We are also in need of more sewing groups.  Our goal is to have all of our current inventory in the hands of children before the end of the year.  We need many workers to replenish the supply of dresses, diapers, backpacks and boys shorts for 2013.  If you are interested in joining our support team or sewing team, please contact us.

Praises and Prayer requests

We know that a good prayer covering over a ministry will make a huge difference.  Please join us in praying for these requests:

· Please pray for Lance and the teams he is leading as well as the Anderson family as they prepare to travel to minister to the children.

· Please pray for people of Haiti as the tropical storm season continues.  Pray God’s hand of protection over them and His help in rebuilding after Hurricane Issac.

· Please pray for the needs of Haiti Care Mission.  Pray the abundance of God will overflow the resources of this ministry.

Praises

· Praise God all the hard working and helpful hands that provide items for this ministry.

· Praise Him for all the ways He leads the way for Haiti Care Mission.

Thank you for all your prayers and support of this ministry.

New Needs for Haiti Care Mission

During our trip to Haiti, we determined that there are some new needs for Haiti that we would like to attempt to meet.
One of the new needs is that of shorts for boys.  While it was wonderful to give dresses to the little girls and share with them,  it was very hard to see the boys and not have much to give them.  We did share small items with them so no one went home empty handed but it was made evident to us that there is a need for boys shorts as well as dresses for the girls.

In the future we want to be able to bring something significant for every child, so we are now opening up the sewing groups to start making boys shorts.  The boys shorts will mainly be for play since they wear pants to school and church.  The style of the shorts needs to be relaxed and comfortable.  The sizes needed range from 2T to boys size 16.

We also found that we have a need for dresses in larger sizes.  The pillowcase dresses are a good fit for most school children, but, in Haiti, some children start school later than 5 years old.  Therefore, when they reach 6th grade they can be as old as 15 years old.  We need dresses that will fit young women, not just the school girls.  The girls in the schools and churches we visited were very happy to receive the new dresses we had for them but some will be wearing them as long-style shirts instead of dresses.  Next time, we want to be able to give them something they will be able to feel comfortable wearing.

The third need that was revealed to us was a need for drawstring backpacks.  With school starting in the fall, we received a request from one missionary for 600 backpacks.  The children need something very simple to take their things back and forth to school.  They do not carry much to school but it would be great to share the love of Jesus with them in a very practical and tangible item.

With the growth of Haiti Care Mission, we expect to see changes in the needs on a regular basis.  It is our desire to meet the needs in whatever way we can.  If you are interested in helping make these new items, please give us a call so we can give you more specific information.

Praises and Prayer request
We know that a good prayer covering over a ministry will make a huge difference.  Please join us in praying for these requests:
· Please pray for the Anderson family as they travel to the Midwest to promote Haiti Care Mission and develop new sewing groups.
· Please pray for the financial needs of HCM.  We know God is the supplier of all our needs.  Pray for those He has called to give.
· Please pray for Haiti.  Pray that the Gospel of Jesus would bring them hope.
Praises
· Praise God for a very successful trip to Haiti.  Many connections were made.
· Praise Him for His provision for His ministry.  He is meeting all of our needs.

Thank you for all your prayers and support.  We appreciate you.

We would like to leave you with a few more pictures from Haiti Care Mission's trip to Haiti this spring.

Haiti Care Mission in HAITI

Last week was an amazing week for Haiti Care Mission.  We had a very successful week of blessing the children of Haiti.  In the last 7 days, over 1500 items were personally delivered to the children.  Our family, a family friend, Dick Armstrong, who was traveling to Haiti to work in an orphanage, 316BeSalt ministries (out of Lakeland, FL) and our Flint, Michigan collection center coordinator, Shirley Brown were all in Haiti last week.  All combined we were able to bless many children and share the love of Jesus with the Haitian kids.
It is overwhelming to consider that all of these groups where in country at the same time and all were delivering Haiti Care Mission items during their trips...  BUT what is even more overwhelming is that God orchestrated for us to meet up with Dick Armstrong and Shirley Brown while in Haiti.  Now consider the fact that... none of us had cell phones, none of us planned to meet in Haiti, and none of us knew the others exact itineraries.  It is estimated that over 850,000 people live in Port au Prince, 100,000s more live in the surrounding areas and many more visiting or shopping at the markets on any given day.  Think about how many people were walking the streets of Port au Prince and we met up with our contacts while we were there.  That is amazing!!!  We were put together to meet by the Almighty. God definitely proved to us that He can make all things possible.
Our trip to Haiti was full of amazing connections that God ordained.  From the shuttle ride to the airport in Miami to our return trip to North Port, God placed people in our path that will help build and expand Haiti Care Mission.  We have many stories to share but for now we will leave you with some pictures so you can get a taste of our time in Haiti.
God has His hand on Haiti Care Mission and we are honored to be working for Him to serve His people.

Haiti Care Mission at the God Belongs in our City event

This weekend we had the honor of representing Haiti Care Mission in the city of Venice, FL.  The event was called God Belongs in our City and it was organized by a tremendous ministry called One Christ Won City.  We gathered with all the non profit organizations of the city of Venice to let people know how they can get involved in doing the work of Christ right here in our home town.  It was a very well organized and well promoted event that allowed us to make many new connections and build new relationships.  It was a wonderful day and we were blessed to see the excitement and love of the people of Venice for the children of Haiti.
Thank you One Christ Won City and all of the event coordinators.
Blessings, Lynn and Lance

Haiti Care Mission Spring Updates

It has been a very busy year so far at Haiti Care Mission.  We have been working diligently to pursue new avenues of shipping, process items to send and build relationships with new sewing groups and missionaries.  In each area of work, it is amazing to see God’s hands at work leading Haiti Care Mission in exciting directions.

Over the past few months, we have seen over 3500 items reach the hands of the children of Haiti.  God has provided new connections which has allowed these items to be delivered at a fraction of the cost.  We have sent items with short-term missionaries, connected with another mission organization to send ship by sea containers, and sent items in with a full-time missionary who was returning to the field.  It has been very exciting to see God open doors for Haiti Care Mission.

Since the beginning of this year, we have seen many new relationships develop.  God has brought us into relationships with more missionaries in the field, which will bring the love of Jesus to more children and new areas of Haiti.  We have built several partnerships with other missions, who will rely on Haiti Care to provide items for their teams and missionaries in the field.  We have also been blessed by many new sewing groups joining our team.   Our God is all about relationship, so we are not surprised that He is building relationships for Haiti Care Mission.

God has also been hard at work providing a wall of protection around Haiti Care Mission.  During the past few months, the enemy has been working to weaken this mission.  There have been false accusations aimed at Haiti Care Mission and us, personally, as the Mission Directors.  But, God is faithful.  He has protected His mission and is causing it to increase instead of fall apart.  If you have heard any of these rumors, we pray that you would please contact us with your questions and concerns.  We are dedicated to serving with integrity and honor.

Haiti Care Mission is continuing to move forward in big ways.  We appreciate all of the work of our supporters, sewing groups, and volunteers.  But our biggest thanks are to the Lord for His provision, protection and connections.  This year is going to be an abundant year for Haiti Care Mission.  We are anticipating great things as we serve our mighty God together.

Praise and Prayer requests

We know that a good prayer covering over a ministry will make a huge difference.  Please join us in praying for these requests:

· Please pray for the Anderson family as they travel to Haiti at the end of April.  Pray for divine health, protection and favor.

· Please pray for the financial needs of HCM.  We know God is the supplier of all our needs.

· Please pray for the missionaries we serve and the children of Haiti.

Praises

· Praise God for His work in building relationships for HCM.

· Praise Him for His protection over His ministry.

· Praise God for His provision. Through divine connections we have processed all 5000 dresses from Atlanta and they are on their way to the children. Most have already been sent and some are committed for upcoming short term trips.

Thank you to all the sewing groups, volunteers and supporters.  We appreciate all of you.
Blessings,
Lance and Lynn Anderson
